Wildside of Hondo
Wildside of Hondo (WoH) is one of two photography companies that make up P3 Studios; and is the brain child of Steve Holliday (Co-Fonder and Photographer of WoH / P3 Studios). WoH has the distinction of specializing in nature and wildlife imagery. Steve Holliday bagan shooting photography back in college while studying Park Service Management at Kansas State University. However, his knowledge of the outdoors began much younger, with his family and their love of nature as well as his time with Scouting. A path he followed from a tenderfoot all the way thru Eagle Scout.
Steve's work has been seen at multiple shows and in a number of magazines over the years. He has traveled to a various locations for assignments; in and outside of the United States, including Costa Rica and London, England. Steve has won a variety of photography contest in different genres. Some of the most recent contest have been The Washington State Fair Photo Contest and The Spring Western Artist Show. He is currently working on a photography book, "Dancing in the Clouds", a study of movement and light.
Steve has spent most of his time in the outdoors observing numerous habitats and the wildlife that live in them. While in Yellowstone; Steve watched many travelers drive in one gate and straight out another gate, just so that they could say they went to Yellowstone. He began to ask if people actually saw Yellowstone? Did they see the bison during the winter with his beard of ice or the male elk battling a rival for the right to mate? Did they see the young fawn patiently hiding in the grass or the fox hunting for her breakfast in the brush. Steve decided that he wanted to show people all the amazing sights that many people overlook everyday. This led to his decission to start Hondo Photography in 2012. The photography company that would evolve into Wildside of Hondo. His hope is to inspire others to slow down; take a moment to look around and to listen to the world around them.
